What is natural cosmetics?

A new trend of modern cosmetology is the use of natural ingredients in the cosmetic industry. Almost all well-known brands have started to care not only about the appearance of their clients, but also about influence of cosmetics on the health of the human body – because we all know that health and beauty stuff integral. It turned out no synthetic substance can not replace the natural ingredients that are extremely beneficial to the skin.

To create natural cosmetics use plant extracts of herbs and flowers, oils and juices, beeswax, spermaceti, lanolin and many other natural substances. The amount of these substances in cosmetics should be high enough – not less than 95 %. All funds which, through advertising, call themselves natural, often can only contain 1 -2% natural components.

It should also be said that the most popular and high-quality line of natural cosmetics are available for the following brands: Annemarie Borlind, Lavera, Dr.Hauschka, Living Nature, Logona.

There are organizations that are engaged in certification of natural cosmetics. They split it into two groups: "economatica" and "biocosmetics", criteria for assessment which are the growing conditions of components for cosmetics. So, for "econometica" must contain 95% natural ingredients, 50% of which are grown in dedicated fields without toxic processing, mineral fertilizers, and without genetic modification of plants.

For "biokosmetik" components 95% must be certified with such farms and plantations.

Manufacturers that pass all requirements, assign the title and Bio icon – round sticker on each package with the products. All ingredients shall be listed in the composition, and the asterisk should be marked with those grown in ecological fields. The only thing that upset is that no one is safe from the fakes – Bio icon can be pasted on modification and cosmetic.
